About Biini Design Studio

Biini Design Studio is run by Ru Biini, a Finnish-Australian textile and design artist. My work begins with noticing the quiet, small things in daily life and celebrating them with bold colours, shapes and textures. Rooted in contemporary Australian life and shaped by Finnish heritage, Biini is about holding two worlds at once.

Each design grows from a desire to explore how these cultures intertwine, offering a fresh perspective on place, belonging, and the spaces we inhabit. I work slowly and intentionally, creating pieces that are expressive, practical, and free from trends.

All Biini pieces are designed and produced in Australia, often in Sydney’s Inner West. I strive to keep every part of the process mindful, sustainable, and community-driven.
