Banksia study

Ode to banksia, our living fossils.
Flowering plants that are over 100 million years old. They swayed in the breeze when Australia was part of the ancient supercontinent Gondwana. They were witness to the awakening of human consciousness and the journey of the rainbow serpent across this big land.
They survived many things, their seeds evolved to be germinated by gentle fires. But now, it's unclear if they can survive the new superfires of 2019 bred from climate change: fires that burn so hot, these resilient seeds are immediately rendered into ash.
Phoenix rising. Gone, gone, gone.
